As Operations Manager, Nathalie heads up our corporate account-management team, overseeing all of the language training programmes provided to our corporate clients and government departments.
Previously, Nathalie oversaw the Account Management, Language Centre and Pedagogy teams working with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and other government departments. She liaised directly with the FCO on complex issues and was responsible for the smooth running of the contract.
After completing a Master’s degree in English and following her love of foreign languages, she worked in several countries as an English and French language teacher for adults. She is a qualified (CELTA) teacher for adults.
In France, Morocco and now in the UK, Nathalie has been involved in the management of language departments and language schools. As the FCO Language Centre Manager, she combined her experience of teaching languages with her management skills.
Nathalie's role was to ensure that both tutors and learners had a very positive experience teaching/learning at the Language Centre by providing them with stellar service and support.
Sarah heads up our corporate account-management team, overseeing all of the language training programmes provided to our corporate clients.
After studying Law at university, she completed postgraduate qualifications in Management and held operational and project management roles in the NHS. A move overseas allowed her to follow her passion for languages and teaching by re-training as an English language teacher.
As one of our Operations Managers, Sarah combines her experience teaching business English to executives with her background in client services management. Her aim is to ensure that all our corporate clients, learners and trainers receive excellent service and support.
As a Senior Account Manager in our corporate team, Debora manages the language training programmes of a portfolio of key clients in the banking and legal sectors predominantly.
Whilst studying Journalism at university, Debora spent three years teaching English in Brazil, her home country, and discovered a great passion for languages. Her mother tongue is Brazilian Portuguese and she also speaks fluent Spanish. Recently she has been investing time in becoming an Italian speaker too.
After graduating, Debora built her career at language schools and organisations, where she managed language training programmes and was responsible for student welfare. She also worked in business development as a sales executive.
Debora started working at Language Services Direct in April 2014. As one of the Senior Account Managers at the company, she oversees large language programmes for key corporate clients, acting as a central point of content for learners, line managers and L&D professionals.
Other aspects of her role include systems development and improvement; trainer recruitment and induction; business development; and coordination of the corporate account management team.
As a Senior Account Manager in our corporate team, Hannah manages the language training programmes of a portfolio of clients in the banking sector predominantly.
Previously, Hannah headed the Foreign and Commonwealth (FCO) account management team for five years, overseeing a group of Account Managers working on the FCO contract. Clients were principally diplomats and foreign service staff.
After studying French and Corporate Communications at university, Hannah went on to complete an MA in Translation and Linguistics at the University of Westminster.
Hannah has a wealth of experience within her profession, having worked for Language Services Direct since 2011, managing programmes for both corporate and government-sector clients. She previously worked in the translation industry and held various administrative positions, including working on government contracts.
Hannah works hard to ensure that we consistently provide a high level of service to learners undertaking language training and she also supports all our teams with office management.
Sarah joined Language Services Direct in 2011 as Account Manager to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and was instrumental in setting up our service provision when we were appointed as their Prime Provider.
Since returning from maternity leave, Sarah has worked alongside the FCO Account Management team, managing part-time and intensive training programmes for our clients from other government departments and specialist FCO departments.
She has now joined the Corporate team, although she remains the Account Manager for courses delivered to Government Departments.
After graduating with a BA in French and Spanish, Sarah qualified as an English language teacher and taught English to a range of business professionals and clients in Barcelona.
Upon returning to the UK, she worked in higher education as a Study Abroad Manager, responsible for facilitating international study abroad programmes, as well as establishing partnerships with institutions overseas.
As a Senior Account Manager, Sarah combines her language teaching and extensive programme management experience to ensure the best service is provided to all clients.
Thea works on the corporate account-management team, overseeing language training programmes for a wide range of clients.
Before joining Language Services Direct, she completed an MA in English Literature as well as a CELTA (language teaching qualification), and went on to teach Business, Academic, and General English at various institutions in London and New York. During this time, she also gained valuable work experience in other sectors including retail and publishing.
As a Corporate Account Manager, Thea draws on her experience as a language trainer, her passion for customer service, and her understanding of the corporate environment to ensure the best possible experience for clients, learners and trainers.
Anna is an Account Manager in the corporate team, looking after a portfolio of corporate clients, including two of her team’s largest language training programmes.
Anna was an English language teacher for over 10 years before joining Language Services Direct. She has two language-teaching qualifications: the CELTA and the Licentiate Diploma in TESOL. She taught both in the UK and abroad: in Istanbul, Sydney and Prague. Anna then went on to work as Senior Teacher and then Assistant Director of Studies at a school in Brighton.
Anna applies her academic knowledge and wealth of teaching experience to her duties as an Account Manager and is able to provide meaningful support to our clients, trainers and learners.
Jez is responsible for all the training that we deliver to the MoD throughout the UK. He also leads the development of the MoD teaching team through a programme of continuous development that involves lesson observations and teacher development workshops on a range of pedagogical topics related to MoD training.
Jez has also helped design and implement our Virtual Learning Environment teacher-training courses and workshops for teachers who work with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and has developed online assessment tests and courses for our corporate clients.
He has many years’ teaching experience both overseas and in the UK and, more recently, he completed an MSc in e-Learning with the University of Edinburgh.
Jez is dedicated to providing an efficient and high-quality service to Capita and the MoD and the best possible learning experience for MoD learners.
Adam is responsible for business development, tutor recruitment and the MOD contract. Initially employed to drive our corporate and public sector sales efforts, he has successfully introduced our services to a widening range of clients.
After a ten-year period of self-employment as a landscape gardener, Adam spent a year in Istanbul teaching English as a foreign language in a private institute to mainly adult learners learning English for personal, academic and professional development purposes. He then returned to the UK to become an undergraduate during which time he spent his year abroad working as an English language assistant in the south of Spain, completing a dissertation on first-language interference in second-language acquisition. After graduation and a successful year in a sales role for an internet start-up company, Adam decided to combine his sales expertise with his linguistic background at Language Services Direct.
This relationship has contributed to year-on-year expansion complemented by successful trainer recruitment during initial management of new contracts. His aim is to ensure we deliver what we promise, providing high standards of service and access to the best language specialists available.
Fayma works in the MoD team, supporting tutor recruitment and preparation of course submissions. Her main duty is to proactively recruit candidates and monitor responses from advertisements.
After finishing her A-Levels in Drama, English and Complementary Therapies, Fayma went on to complete an apprenticeship course in Business Administration whilst working as a Course Coordinator at a local college. This developed her passion to work in the education sector.
Fayma is bilingual in Bengali and English (with elementary levels in Arabic and Spanish). In her role at Language Services Direct, she combines her passion for working in education with her enthusiasm for languages - and is committed to ensuring that the MoD and our language trainers receive excellent service.
Magdalena joined Language Services Direct in 2015 and works in the MoD team as General Administrator. Her role is primarily a combination of financial responsibilities (invoicing) and database management.
Magdalena has a strong background in academic administration. This includes positions of PA to a College Principal and central secretary to various committees and boards. She has strong experience in timetabling; international student screening and recruitment; and student probation and support services including acting as the main point of contact for international students. She has also worked in business administration and as a Polish-English translator.
Magdalena is both an accomplished administrator and a fully qualified teacher. She holds BA and MA degrees in English language teaching and taught English for 12 years both in Poland and in the UK in the private and state sectors.
At Language Services Direct, Magdalena has been able to combine her language-teaching background with her experience in administration and contributes to the monitoring of teaching delivered for both the Ministry of Defence and Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
