Our language trainers

At Language Services Direct we recognise the importance of providing our clients with language trainers of the highest calibre. All our trainers must therefore meet the minimum requirements outlined below.

 Qualifications & experience

  • university degree or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate qualification
  • a recognised language training qualification to teach their native language
  • at least two years’ experience teaching business learners
  • a thorough understanding of key business roles and issues
  • preferably, personal business experience working in a commercial environment

Language teaching skills

  • able to deliver highly effective and enjoyable language lessons
  • able to train learners of varying backgrounds and abilities
  • the flexibility to adapt teaching methods to suit each learner’s needs and preferred learning style
  • experience designing and developing tailored courses in line with learner and business requirements
  • the ability to provide constructive feedback to learners about their progress, both in writing and face-to-face
  • a dynamic, enthusiastic and engaging teaching style
  • a commitment to keep up-to-date with recent developments in teaching methodologies and materials

Professional & personal skills

  • excellent administration, communication and time-management skills
  • flexible and responsive to short-notice changes of schedule
  • able to receive and respond to both positive and negative feedback
  • able to complete reports and records in a clear and unambiguous manner within deadlines
  • maintain high levels of professionalism
  • client-service and business orientated

Recruitment policy

A rigorous recruitment policy is in place, which includes the following:

  • screening of CVs against our Language Trainer Specification
  • face-to-face interview at Language Services Direct, including a 30-minute demonstration lesson
  • two references (one professional and one academic), checked and verified
  • thorough induction on Language Services Direct (and our clients’) policies, procedures and expectations
